Surprise Marriage Proposal at Devil's Punch Bowl!

Trevor and Kayla are huge National Olympic Parks lovers, and they planned a spring break trip here to the Olympic Peninsula. Kayla is a first grade teacher and loves the outdoors! The one thing Kayla wasn't aware being planned was her surprise proposal! Trevor respectfully asked for permission to take her hand in marriage, and was granted! He packed the ring, planned the perfect agenda for his beautiful girlfriend on our gorgeous peninsula, hired a photographer to capture it all, rented the car, and they loaded the plane. While on the plane, Trevor and I were texting back and forth getting all the details lined up for Sunday! Neither one had ever been to the peninsula before so he asked for some locations ideas that had gorgeous mountain views. Kayla especially loves mountains and water. I gave him a list to browse while flying into Seattle. Trevor loved a couple different locations, and the Devil's Punch Bowl off the Spruce Railroad Trail is where he chose. Great Choice!!

Trevor and Kayla are both from Kentucky and met in high school at fifteen, but didn't attend the same school. Thanks to mutual friends, these two became a forever couple. They started dating and shared their first kiss with each other at the age of fifteen, and have now been together for ten years, and counting. The energy between these two is so sweet, loving, and happy! I was around them for less than five minutes and strongly felt their incredible bond...simply undeniable!

Sunday morning now, Trevor and I are texting about final details. I drive up to Lake Crescent a bit early with my family to check the trail out. Much of the trail is dark, so if the day is too cloudy our options really slim down. With a surprise proposal I like to map it out for the one proposing. It makes for much better photos!! My family usually never comes with me on my shoots, but this shoot was unique. There aren't many places at the Devil's Punch Bowl to hide and take pictures, so they were my fake "family" shoot. I was shooting the fake family shoot while the couple walked onto the bridge, then I would turn the camera onto the couple. I have the fake family placed, so I am also in a good position to shoot the proposal. I see Trevor come around the corner and my heart is pounding! I get just as excited! Unfortunately he had to wait for a long moment for a viewer to exit the bridge. I am sure it was seconds, but felt like forever! She finally exits and Trevor guides Kayla to walk onto the bridge. I am trying to snap a couple of them "setting up", without Kayla realizing what is going on. Trevor is getting the ring and getting down on his knee. I have no idea how he is getting Kayla to stare out at the lake without turning around!! Finally he says her name, she slowly turns around and it happens. I am shooting them with tears rolling down my face while feeling all the love. This proposal was so thoughtfully thought out, and the backdrop was picturesque!

I believe Kayla said to me once all was done was, "I thought, how nice she is taking pictures. I wonder if she will email them to us.". I laughed and said you get all the pictures and we are going to go around taking more!!

Soon, they will be sharing their first kiss again, as Mr. and Mrs.. Thank you Trevor for choosing me to capture this amazing milestone for the both of you!!!

Senior pics In the fog on a side by side

In true PNW style!! I would shoot this session again and again!! I showed up to Joseph's family property early morning. The air was very crisp, fog was low, the sun was trying so hard to make an appearance, and the wind was gently blowing. I chatted with Joseph's adorable momma; Stacy, in the driveway while he was finishing up. She was telling me how he wanted to drive up the Olympics a little ways in the side by side and go off on some side roads. Ummm, YES!

Joseph comes out, and we all walk straight to the side by side. We climbed in and buckled up. Off we went! Thank goodness for gloves, hats, coats...all the things! The air went from chilly to icy, the fog became very dense, the sun said, "See ya!", and the wind became a wind tunnel! Regardless...I loved every bit of it!! I HATE the cold, but with layers, heated coat and gloves, and boots...I was great!! He drove until I would see "a spot". I tapped his arm, he would stop, we hopped out and the session was back on! Hats off to Joseph's for his stellar driving abilities! Some of these "roads" he drove on were barely wide enough for the side by side, had sharp switchbacks, ruts, steep inlines and declines, and some wild branches flying about! Super crazy and fun!! Mom went from never had drove the side by side to a pro driver! She learned for the good of the shoot! Joseph is quite tall and I used the side by side for extra height and angles. I may have rode on the hood of the side by side while mom slowly drove towards Joseph! We had a blast up on the mountain!!

We couldn't end the shoot there! They have one of the most gorgeous, magical, and special properties I have seen since moving to the Olympic Peninsula. A beautiful home sitting next to an extra high tree house that Dad built. Which both are nestled next to a picturesque pond in the middle of a gorgeous yard that is snuggled up next to their treed property. Among the trees is a floating trail-floor through the forest that Dad and Joseph, in that forest are the most vibrant trees and a creek! So magical!! Did I mention my drive in all started with a gorgeous driveway that stretches for a quarter mile along a pasture with a stunning red barn! Eye candy in every direction! Enjoy a taste of our morning!!!

Nathan's Senior Session at his STUNNING Childhood Homestead!

Nestled on the outskirts of town, down an unexpected dead end road sits a gorgeous homestead...

I have lived Port Angeles 5 years, and becoming more familiar each year here. I still use my GPS nearly everywhere I go. I am driving and I know I am so close to my destination...I keep hearing "you have arrived". I look at the nearest house to me and it isn't exactly matching the description I was given. Well, I park and I open the door to an elderly man that isn't too happy I pulled up...wrong house! I quickly shut my door and leave...around the corner and two houses down, I arrive!

The view! Wow! Just wow!! Glorious fields and trees as far as my eyes can see. Adorable little sheds and barns throughout. A nice display of the Olympic Mountains is to the south, which is facing the front of their home. It's absolutely stunning.

We started it off by taking a walk around their property to see what I see. The sun was still very high in the sky and that is number one factor for me in finding locations. Every location we shot at, had a special little meaning behind it. He, or his parents would tell me some little tidbit about that exact spot. Whether it be, riding bikes through there, treasure hunting, falling over logs, having special hideouts, and the most important...a short cut to grandmother's house! A real life fairytale!

Shooting at this location was truly a special treat! Next time, we are shooting at sunrise!! All the new beauty that will come alive!!

A Six Day New Lil Man

When my family arrived to the studio, the studio is lit by only the natural light coming in through the big, front windows. There's 4 soft, adorable set ups ready to go. A lovely scent of local lavender oil is diffusing the air. Pandora and a noise machine are doing their calming magic. The studio heat is to set to a nice and warm roasty-toasty temp. All four come and settle in. Mom hands over sweet baby Wren, and I get busy capturing all I can. They had previously chosen lil Wren's teddy bear, so it was ready to go! Wren will hopefully have this tiny lil bear the rest of his life. A tiny lil bear that will be in one of their forever memories hanging on their wall. I love making sure that this lil bear makes an appearances in a couple different set ups and poses. It always amazing me how quickly the bear goes from looking somewhat large next to all the babies, to super tiny!!

I warned mom and dad that this shoot is hot and takes a bit so dress for comfort. After I started the shoot they sat on the couch and relaxed comfortably while waiting, for me to need them. Wren only asked for one milk break, and never argued a single pose! What a peaceful baby boy he is! I got through all I had prepared and he was such a fabulous lil model. We finished the session with a few shots with beautiful big sis embracing her lil brother Wren. She is such a proud big sister that is already so in love! A few poses with mom, dad and both kiddos, mom, dad and baby. Then we ended the session with each parent holding and loving on baby Wren.

Wintery Holiday Mini Session!

On the Olympic Peninsula the winters are wet and cold...an icy cold that goes right through you! What is better than booking a photo session in a comfy and warm studio! This wintery red truck backdrop is one of my favorites! Add in some snow and it becomes so magical. Capturing our loved ones, to include our fur babies is a must during any holiday season!

Family Photos at Spruce Railroad Trail!

What a perfect fall day for a family shoot up at Lake Crescent! The colors!! I suggested the Spruce Railroad Trail to this family because they have older children that are able to easily walk to and from the Devil's Punchbowl. I am so happy they said yes! They all were so fun to capture! Everyone is so sweet and joyful. They took guidance from me so well! They were up for all my suggestions, even Dad...late afternoon family photo session during the last weekend of hunting season, enough said!

When the mom contacted me for a family session she mentioned that her oldest daughter had been seizure free for 7 months and asked to celebrate her progress. 7 months!! YES! That is huge!! Her mom bought her a gorgeous bouquet of flowers that matched all the fall colors so well. She also surprised her with a sign to document this special occasion. What a special moment I got to capture!! Look at her smile! So bright it lights up the darkest of nights.

By the way...this was my last shoot at this location before a landslide of trees and soil covered 280 feet of the trail! It will be shut down until the rainy season is over, all the debris is cleared away, and it's structurally strong again!

Extended Family Photos at Lake Crescent!!

What's a better way to celebrate years of marriage, but photos with your adult kiddos AND their families! Especially when everyone lives in all different directions! Many of us know the struggle of getting ALL loved ones in the same location at the same time!! To make it a bit more challenging...living on the Peninsula! It can be a bit isolating, but the best kind of isolation! The Olympic Peninsula does not disappoint!

I showed up early to check out different locations at Storm King Ranger Station on Lake Crescent. I like to check out all the spots to find the best location for lighting. Once I find my spots, I get the shoot all laid out in my mind...a game plan. It was a fairly short walk.This family knew what they wanted...I just had to find it! The field right in front of the Ranger Station was perfect for the extended family photos! Once we were done in the field we moved a short distance to a large mound that was sitting in front of the boat docks. High enough to get most of the distractions out, and low enough to catch the gorgeous scenery. We probably looked pretty silly from a distance. We were constantly moving all around that mound to stay out of the sporadic sunshine rays peaking through the clouds, and luckily, we had dodged the rain showers that were coming down off and on since morning.
Majority of the family showed up early as well. I am so happy they did! It was such a good time to get to know them a bit, and for them to get comfortable with me. What a great family! Each of them were such a pleasure. I am already looking forward to the next session!

A Senior Session at PAHS!!

I moved to Port Angeles a few years ago, and haven't shot a session at any school here, yet. This session was at Port Angeles High School. Wow! I'm so happy this is the location Landyn chose! I just love the huge variety of textures this property has to offer!! We start out where he practices for football. Yes, I may have drove around a bit searching for the "football" field. A field, yes, not so much...football. These boys deserve a football field!

Landyn and his father showed up while I was finishing up my routine walk around. I met them at their vehicle and we chatted for a bit. Landyn really wanted a football in a couple of the shots so his dad went on a fast hunt for one, and scored! He rushed to go get it and returned with it in no time. I think it really paid off! I love his football shots!!

After we were done with the football in the field, we started walking around to see what we could see. I was pretty impressed with the lines, the artwork, the textures, all the bright steps, so much good stuff! Landyn was up for everything I suggested. He has such an easy going personality, and it really shows in his photos. He said he didn't like photos, but I'm feeling like that was all a cover. He took direction so well!! .

We had to shoot fast...rain clouds were creeping closer and closer. We were doing so good...almost!! A nice light sprinkle never ruins a photo, rather than it gives it something special, and no, not the water drops on his shirt!

Senior Pictures at a Secret Location!

This family knows how to blow a photographer's mind! I shot Hunter's older brother's senior photos and I was in awe when we arrived to that location! The beauty, the variety, the seclusion...everything! Their mother contacts me again to shoot her other son's; Hunter, senior photos. YAY! Of coarse I will! I am thrilled to go back to that spot! It's amazing, but private, so it's rare and such a privilege to shoot there!

The day arrives and his mother sends me specific directions of where to meet up. Well, it is not the same spot. I go through two locked gates, up some pretty steep tiny roads, then arrive at this outstanding lookout! Probably could go without saying that this land is also absolutely stunning annnnd private! It's where they chill out on the 4th of July!! So Jealous! The views are amazing...you can see everything! The Olympic Mountains are to our back and the Strait of Juan de Fuca is at our finger tips. We are sitting on this lookout that is big enough for approximately 10 midsized vehicles...nicely parked. On this random lookout is a very nice fire pit and a table with two chairs!

That specific day, the sky was so crazy. Part of the Peninsula in the Olympic Mountains had a forest fire that was still trying to be contained causing smoke to push our way. The west and north west had amazing hues of orange from the mix of the storm and fire. The east and southeast were very grey and blue from the dark storm clouds that were blanketing the sky. Check it out in the photos...such cool natural affects! It was also very cold out, accompanied by a very icy breeze. Despite being frozen, Hunter was such a trooper that has the best personality and GREAT hair!! We had such a great time taking advantage of all the goodness that surrounded us!

Madison Falls for an Extended Family photo session!!

These amazing kids bought their mother the best gift ever! An extended family photo session!! It was quite some time since they all had been under the same roof and since the time was quickly approaching that they would be, they decided to gift their mother this photo package as a birthday gift. What great kids!!

We all thankfully found parking in the tiny lot at the head of Madison Fall's Trail. This is one of my favorite locations to meet up for sessions. The roaring Elwah River flowing through the Olympic Mountains, a blocked off public road, a beautiful flowing field, and of coarse the stunning falls! So many choices for backdrops!! We definitely took advantage of as much as we could!

The smiles on their faces in every photo explains in detail how our shoot went! The siblings personalities came right on out once the shoot started. We had the jokester, the laid back and go with the flow, and the instigator. A couple of the sibling had amazing spouses that laughed right along side them. It was the best! Both, the parents and spouses, rolled with it all and was game for everything. Everyone were such a blast to shoot!

The sweetest family from Ohio!!

When I say the sweetest....seriously THE SWEETEST! I knew since our first conversation that Kerri (Mom) and I were meant to meet and be friends! After a few conversations that lasted bit too longer each time, dialing in a day and time that would work for her family and I, we were scheduled!! I now felt like my friend from Ohio was coming to visit me!

The day arrives I get to meet and hug my new friend! Not only am I taking family photos, they also have a senior that wanted beach senior photos!! So basically I get to hangout and have fun with these guys for a few hours!! Of course we start the day out texting each other early morning. I am checking the weather as usual. I notice how perfect (beautiful cloud coverage) it is now (7:30 am), and in the afternoon/evening it was showing only sun. We are now shooting in a couple hours!! I am so happy they were able to be flexible! Totally worth the instant chaos that probably erupted as soon as she hung up. Near the end of the shoot...Mr. Sun was making a very bright and harsh appearance!

I have now arrived and we have made our way to the beach. First step...kick off them shoes!! We walked up and down the beach slowly not to miss the beauty around...cool rocks, stunning feathers, wobbly jellyfish all while snapping away. Mom, Dad and the girls all had fun being kids shoeless on a beach. I highly recommend a weekly walk in the sand, shoeless!! The whole family laughed the entire time, twirling around in the creeping waves, leaping over jellyfish, running from chasing waves, and so much more. One of my favorite parts of today was watching my new friends from Ohio really enjoying all this experience had to offer.

Beach and Ocean Senior Pictures!

I have so many ways to describe this gorgeous senior, Erin...sweet, determined, extremely artistically talented, stunning, intelligent, fabulous style, and on and on!!! I got to know her pretty well during and after the shoot. Erin is such a talented artist that I asked for her help in creating a PNW tattoo with me! She happily said yes, and after going back and forth via text and email for a couple weeks...It's done and perfect! There is such joy when someone is able to bring your vision to life...no matter what it is!

Her family rental was beach front, so I drove to where Erin and her family were at. It was a beautiful cloudy morning...wasn't gloomy, wasn't bright...juuuuust right! The gentle breeze was perfectly warm. The horizon was peeking out from under a low lying fog! Erin couldn't have chosen better outfits!! Let's go! We start it off with some casual walking and continue on down the beach. We take some shots in the grass, some gorgeous drift log shots, and of course down on the beach as the ocean waves come to say hello. Erin trusted everything I asked of her and I am so thankful! We not only had great conversation and so many laughs...she ended up with such a huge gallery! Look at how stunning she is! She compliments all she is around. I know that will stay true and strong her entire life. Erin has already accomplished so much with her schooling and business! I am excited to see her growth through the years. I am so happy I was chosen to have the privilege of spending the day with her!

Wedding Day at Fox-Bell!!

What a gorgeous sunny, yet chilly Saturday! The men are gathered up in their den. Some polishing their boots, shooting pool, catching up on old times... The ladies are gathered in their luxury house prepping their hair and make-up with nonstop giggles and chatter. Aunties chatter is being heard from a distance while they're cooking in the kitchen. Mother is patiently and anxiously waiting her turn to get ready while holding back that her baby girl is getting married!! Big hugs to mom!!

The time has come for first looks...Mom gets to see the bride first. Mom's smile says it all...the bond between them both is so special. She embraces her girl one last time before she's escorting her to the next first look...Dad. The second he turns and sees his baby girl is so precious. His eyes speak a thousand words. A big daddy hug, a few wardrobe adjustments to each other, and now it is Father's turn to escort the Bride to a very patient Groom. The instance he turns and sees her...he melts. The look, the smile, the eyes locking, the embrace...all these little details turn into fabulous moments that will be forever memories.

We finish all the pre ceremony pictures and the bride goes into hiding until the wedding. A much deserved time to warm up and get off her feet. The next 3 hours will be very busy!! The three hundred plus guests start arriving and quickly fill the seats. Before we know it the music is playing and the bride is being escorted by her father down the aisle. In a blink, the sweetest yet quickest ceremony is being celebrated in the barn with good music, yummy food, and with the best of friends and family. What a privilege it was for me to have a part in their day! The amount of love that filled the room was so beautiful.

Engagement session at Fox-Bell!

Fox-Bell Wedding and Events Venue is the perfect backdrop for this Bride and Groom-to-be! This sweet engaged couple chose it for their dream wedding. So, of coarse, we had a bit of fun absorbing all the lovey wedding vibes with an engagement session!! The groom is stationed in a different state then what the bride is currently living in, so he wasn't able to show up until a few days before the wedding! From the moment he arrived, he was on a busy agenda...so much to do! Three of the many things on their list was to check out the wedding venue, meet the photographer, and shoot the engagement session. We did 3 in 1!!!

The day arrived to meet up at the venue. The day was very bright and sunny, yet not so warm!! Here on the Olympic Peninsula it really does matter on where you are physically located to experience various temperatures and weather. Drive down the road...it may be raining, or it may be warmer! These two definitely were in warmer weather prior to their drive. I shot fast and stayed in one location to make it as quick as possible for the bride-to-be to go warm up! Even though it was chilly, we had many laughs! It was so nice to finally put a face to a name! Nathan, you were exactly as your soon-to-be-bride described you...sweet and quiet. I loved seeing and feeling the magnetic love these two share!!

A perfect birthday gift for mom...a family session!

I was sought out by her husband. He didn't really know what time of day or where he wanted the shoot, but he did know he wanted a surprise family session as a birthday gift for his wife. I threw out some locations and he went with using my inside and outside studios. He picked two backdrops that he thought she would like. I steamed them and had them hanging for her to view. I also wrote out a gift certificate so he had a physical object to give her as a gift. All the thought he put into this was adorable. He really wanted the session to be perfect for her.

The day of the session arrived and I let her look through all the backdrops and she picked exactly what her husband had pre picked out, it was perfect. We did half the session inside then headed outside for some fun nature pictures. Every family member was up for anything and it made it all the better! The expressions that were captured, and the joy that is felt when looking through the pictures is everything! The love between the forever bride and groom. The brotherly love between the brothers. The respect the boys showed during the family poses was outstanding...such a great family!

Victoria Canada did NOT Disappoint! Gorgeous, and SO much to do!

We hopped aboard the Black Ball Ferry to Victoria and I took my place at the bow of the boat...I get very motion sick, and this is open ocean water!! This is not like a ferry to Seattle and even on that ferry I have to look forward on the bow, and cannot ride at night! So sick! The way there was fun and smooth. I even snagged a Coho Ferry hoodie before we started moving! We arrived as very obvious NEW tourists and we did not disappoint in doing ALL the tourist things to do! We walked, and then walked some more, and then discovered the hop on/off bus near the end of our visit! My suggestion...get on that bus first! It takes you to all the places and you get to hop on and off all throughout the day, fyi!

Victoria Canada was absolutely beautiful. It is such a fabulous city to walk around and soak up all the city life with a very England/Ireland feel. There is amazing architecture in every direction you look. The diversity in food, culture, people, and things to do is so fabulous. We visited the bug zoo, rode around Victoria on a horse carriage, walked through miniature world, ate delicious food...a lot, visited art galleries, the parliament, and so much more. We stayed at a hotel close to town and every time we walked to and from town we passed a Hallmark movie set. It was so fun to be spectators. Those images and that story is for another blog!!

Colorado Family visits Olympic Peninsula & fits in a family shoot!!

I really wish on some days here on the Olympic Peninsula there would be a soft light breeze. If you have visited the beach while visiting or living here, you know how horribly windy it can be! We do not have the sunny "Cali" beaches. We have different ways of describing the wind depending on how strong it is, lol! I love beach photos, but there is always a chance that wind will be a factor! Today's shoot was a constant strong wind kind of day with very strong gusts. The wind and very chilly air did not detour this entire family from making it work! They are a very sweet and determined family!! The entire duration of this shoot everyone, except dad, was frozen!!

We met up at the Sequim Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge Recreation Area. This family is from Denver Colorado so they really wanted the ocean as the backdrop. They are use to seeing the majesticness of our Olympic Mountains, but having the Pacific Ocean at our front door is so spectacular and new! I had to do a bit of a hike with this fun and outgoing family to the ocean to start their shoot! Why not get an experience out of it!! It is the perfect hiking distance for grade school kiddos and older! The views are absolutely stunning and if you are visiting to see the ocean...this is a must stop! We start our hike down to the water and not one of them is on the shy side...loving it! They are all so excited to tell me all they have seen and done already, and what is still on the agenda! We arrive to the water and the waves are crashing loud, the wind is blowing hard with gusts in-between, and the sun is shining down! They are loving it! The loudness of the waves is very exciting to the kiddos, but I think the temperature is more shocking! They were not use to chilly windy ocean air on a 65 degree day! Goosebumps from start to finish! This did not slow anyone down, or discourage anyone! I love that every single one of these fabulous peeps said yes to all my ideas. We had so many laughs...some staged, but not most!! We do one of the fastest sessions down on the water then head back up to the top of the bluffs to warm up and to get out of the wind. The bluffs are breezy, but not the strong winds that were nearly knocking us over, and we could hear each other!! The ocean greets us in the background still, just not spraying us in the face, or chasing our feet!

Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle with My Family

A perfect warm, sunny Seattle day to visit Woodland Park Zoo! I have been bringing my girls here for the past 25 years, and not one time has it disappointed. Is it possible to have a favorite animal, species? I don't think so, but I do think there can be a few that you love a bit more than others! I absolutely adore giraffes...they are outstanding in every way. Did you know that after a giraffe gives birth to their calf standing, the calf comes out feet and head first like superman, walks and eats within 2 hours, and the BEST part...all the mums take turn babysitting all the calves so the other mums can take a break!! So very cool! Not to mention their long sticky purple tongue to hold onto those leaves as they strip a branch. I also adore gorillas, orangutans, anything with a pocket to store a baby, birds that land on ya to eat from your seed covered stick, and on and on! What animal do you adore?

The girls arrived full of energy and spunk, and left with tired legs and a ton of stories to tell!

A Women and Her Bestie, a Sweet Painted Horse

These two spoke their own language! They walked together, smiled together, and so sassy together! The love for each other is undeniable!

I was approached by Lisa, the owner, in a very serious and solemn way. We work at the same school together and was asked to talk with her when I had a moment...she's never approached me in this demeanor before. So of course, I made that moment happen! She starts to explain that her baby girl, Matilda has arthritis and bone cancer in her right front leg...she can't hardly bare weight on it. She has been in her stall for a couple weeks so she didn't chance breaking her leg in the pasture from a hole, or rut. Her veterinarian suggested that Matilda be put down the day Lisa took her to him. Of course she could NOT do it...she needed more time to process everything!! A week or so passes after her visit and that's when she asks me to take personal pictures of her and Matilda. Umm, YES, yes I will definitely be your photographer for this private, loving, precious season of your life.

The day arrives and I am full of all sorts of emotions, I can't even imagine how my dear friend Lisa feels. We start the shoot and I am clicking away. We laugh, cry...all the emotions in a roller coaster affect the entire shoot. Lisa and Matilda did fabulous, we couldn't have asked for a better overcast day! After a couple hours and over 400 clicks later, we wrap it up.

A week after the shoot, Lisa proceeds to tell me that Matilda does NOT have cancer! Yes to arthritis, but very manageable!! Her horse's farrier had been scheduled to re-shoe Matilda for awhile and she kept it because she likes to keep the front two shoes from her babies that have passed. She figured if she had to put her down, she could get the shoes. Lisa proceeds to tell me how nervous she was for him to do his job on her girl. Matilda babies that hoof and turning her foot under could really hurt her. The farrier begins his job and Matilda lets him do everything he needed with ZERO complaint! As the farrier takes the shoe off the troubled hoof, he sees the largest abscess under the shoe! She was going easy on that hoof because of a huge painful sore! WHAT!?!

Thank Goodness she didn't listen to her Vet, or should I say EX Veterinarian!

One more thing, Lisa was in the middle of buying a home with property, and selling her home. The new home has a barn and an arena...Lisa was so saddened that Matilda wouldn't ever see the new place, never be home with her. Matilda had been in a boarding stable because her other home didn't have everything it needed.

As of July 1st, 2023...Matilda is home to stay comfortably, and happily with her momma, for EVA!!

My Sister is engaged! We head to Madison Falls and Downtown PA!

My Sister is engaged! I wish I could've captured Jim's proposal, but second best...I got to take their engagement photos at Madison Falls Trail, and Downtown PA! They drove over from Eastern Washington to visit for a day, so I could meet my future brother-in-law...Jim. I had to fit in a shoot! I was really hoping one of the locations would be a bit less windy...nope! We couldn't reschedule, we only had until sunset! We headed out with the most optimism!! We ended up having so many laughs because of the wind...thanks wind!

The location I chose downtown was the "911 Memorial". Not only is it a bit of heaven right downtown, but my sister recently retired from the United States Air Force, I also served in the USAF, Jim served in the United States Army, and it is Memorial Day-today! It really is quite perfect!!

A mile or so after leaving the Madison Falls parking lot, we had the privilege of seeing one of the magnificent elk herds, up close!! This was my first time seeing a herd since moving to the Olympic Peninsula...5 years ago!! It was simply stunning!

So many Congrats to Kristina and Jim! I wish y'all a lifetime of making amazing memories!

Port Williams Beach at sunset with this very dapper newly engaged couple!

We met up in the parking lot of Port Williams Beach...such a great place to visit and take photos! I think on this particular day, everyone was thinking the same thing, very busy! We head out as fast as possible to go chase the light...this great field is a bit of a walk to get to, especially is fancy shoes!! It was a beautiful evening, not a cloud in site! Which, I am begging for a few cloud coverage...makes my job much easier!

We make it to our spot and the sun is setting fast behind the mountain. I jump right into the session and they are rocking it! Ummm excuse me, I think I have some models in the making!!! The pop out tent comes out for them to change right there on the beach. A quick change and we finish the rest of the shoot taking advantage of the rest of the light. We gather all our gear, and Bean, and head back to the parking lot. By the time we get there, our light has left and we get out last few images for the night...silhouettes, I am a sucker for a silhouette!!

Our hour flew by so fast with all the laughter and fun we were having...I can't wait to do this again with y'all!!

Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge was INCREDIBLY windy & it was a...Cap & Gown Shoot!

We met up at the opening to the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge. I love nothing more than when a client says, "Do you mind if we hike..." Ummmmmmmm NOPE, my favorite!! We drive to the spit opening. I grab my gear and we head down towards the water. The day was dark, gloomy, incredibly windy, and much colder than you would think for mid June!! This avid outdoorsman was in his happy place! Not only is Brock an outdoorsman, he is a musician of multiple instruments, volunteers at our local Port Angeles food bank, was just hired as a seasonal Wildland Firefighter - leaves for training TODAY, and plans to attend Peninsula College with an ultimate goal of becoming a pathologist!!! Woah!!

Great job young man! It was such a privilege to get to know you during your session! The blowing sand, nonstop strong winds, and splashing water never took your enthusiasm away!! I do think we managed to get at least one tassel shot facing the correct way! Which was pure luck! Hahaha, thanks for all the smiles and laughs through it all!!

She said "YES!" in the Olympic National Park!!

It was a sunny, warm day this afternoon...I am hiding at the back corner of an Airbnb anxiously waiting for my engagement couple to arrive. They are driving to the peninsula from SeaTac, for they just arrived from New York! All of us on the peninsula know how that drive can go!! I am getting regular update texts from Roger, the sweet man that master minded his girlfriend's surprise engagement session.

Roger knew a national park was going to be the place he was going to ask his amazing girlfriend, Lauren, to be his wife. I love that he chose the Olympic National Park to make this milestone memory! I feel so lucky to have been the chosen photographer, and to be entrusted to capture this unforgettable moment.

It is 5 minutes until they are scheduled to arrive...I hear a vehicle coming up the driveway. My heart starts pounding. I hold my camera up in place. Why aren't they coming? I peak around the corner after a few minutes of not hearing voices. What do I see? A natural gas delivery!! Now panic sets in! He needs to be gone! After being down wind from the smell of the delivery for about a solid 5 minutes, which felt like forever, he pulls away! Not even 30 secs later I hear another vehicle coming up the driveway. This has to be them!!! My camera goes up, and I am just waiting to see Roger walk onto the back deck. There he is! Quick, I duck around the corner for a couple secs so she doesn't see me. I put my camera in place and start clicking away. I can feel the love and emotion, I am trying my best to not tear up! I need my eyes!!! I am now taking pics of him looking at me, so I put my camera down...one sec too soon. He pointed at me with the biggest smile!! I come around onto the deck and I couldn't help but squeeze Lauren right away!! She was so confused, and so emotional, yet she gave me such a big hug. I give them space, and do her ring shots. Lauren changes out of her traveling clothes into a gorgeous dress and shoes that Roger secretly packed for her!! We get to shooting right away, and they follow my direction perfectly from start to finish. We had so much fun, so many laughs.

7 year old headshots & she rocks it!!

A week away from turning 8, this 7-year-old cutie did absolutely amazing! She is a fabulous little dancer and is entering a contest. For the contest, she needed to submit a headshot. That's when I received an email asking if I could fit her in...ummm YES!!

The headshot session day arrived and they made it to the studio with no troubles...the weather was pretty horrible! This is also the first time I met her, but that didn't shy her away! Thankfully her mother and I had been exchanging emails so I could have an insight to Julianne prior to shooting her session. Julianne came in with confidence and great posture, and with the best smile! We started the shoot and she took direction so well! We had so many laughs in such a short time! This little gal is going places!! Good Luck sweetheart!!!

Two years prior I flew to California for Meg's brother's senior session. While I was taking his photos, I convinced her to take sophomore pics! So happy she gave in! Now it is her turn for her SENIOR pictures!!! Time sure zips on by!!

Don't let this small, elegant, and poised young lady fool you! This beauty has a spark when needed! She will not let anyone walk all over her...not even tip-toe! I LOVE this about her! She is driven, and has such a fabulous outlook on life...such a realist! Don't ever change sweets!

Megs asked for two sessions. One at a very artistic restaurant that didn't open until evening. It was such a great choice! It was private and somewhat seclude from onlookers! It had so many ways to be creative to be able to let her personality shine! The second session was at the same family's private estate where I took her and her brother's photo sessions 2 years ago.

I was so happy to hear we were heading back to that gorgeous location!! AND that she wanted to do a move that she does in dance...an action leap through the air! She did not disappoint! She is just so beautiful, graceful, and fabulous!! This took two tries!!

Megan brought her pups with her and this made me so happy. Did they cooperate? Not one bit! Then, we went inside and asked for some kind of treat...lunch meat it was!

They instantly became posing pouches!! I was able to capture their love and closeness in no time after that!

Comfy Baby Isla...from Mamma's belly to Daddy's arms!

Baby Isla is the perfect fitting final puzzle piece to make this amazing, yet incomplete, family whole.

I am so blessed to have met this gorgeous momma at the school the both of us teach at. I had front-row seat to watch her belly grow, as precious Isla grew. I am predicting a track star just like her parents! This littles didn't stop moving! As much as I loved watching her belly move about and grow, I was just as excited to meet and hold her!! She arrived right on time and she couldn't possibly be more perfect! Such a strong, sweet, and absolutely precious little girl! Good thing she has an older sister and two older brothers to guide and protect her!

I love that all my FABs become family, and how friends become FAB family!!

Celebrating in beautiful Port Gamble where they said, "I do! 15 Years Ago!

I met this bride a year ago during a Christmas mini-shoot. I met her, her sister, and both their daughters. They had a fun little cousin shoot! It was super adorable!! Now to have the chance to meet the boys in her life, the whole family, is pretty exciting!

15 years ago they vowed to each other at St. Paul's Church, an 1879 church that was meticulously restored in Port Gamble, WA. This church is so adorable, and quaint! For every milestone anniversary, they return back to where it all started to capture how much their story has beautifully changed. How great is that!?!

They pulled up and we quickly greeted each other, then headed inside the chapel for a quick walk thru, and outfit change. They let me know right away that they must be done by a specific time. One of them was on a break from work in Seattle!! They had to get back to the ferry in time to walk on to get back to work in time! We started right away and didn't slow down! Their kiddos were so very polite, and sweet. Neither one had any problems having fun in front of the camera!! We recreated a handful of images, and both were such troopers! They were so very patient while doing "mom and dad" shots, and also while waiting for me to balance just right on the wooden, picket fence in the front of the church so that I could get THE Chapel shot! We had zero extra time for me to carry a ladder around, lol!

A day playing at Madison Fall's Trail

A family from out-of-state found me on Google, and I am SO happy they did!! They booked a 2-hour family session wanting candid shots during a hike somewhere in the Olympic Mountains. When she told me the ages of the children, I quickly suggested Madison Fall's Trail! I also have two littles and this is one of our top places to go for an adventure! Not only is it the perfect walking distance for little feet, but the Elwah River lets itself known as it rushes by to the Pacific Ocean. The river has a fabulous river bank to roam, play in the side streams, find treasures, and just sit and listen to the roar of the magnificent river...from a safe distance!! The mother really wanted to enjoy spending time with her kids all the while having memories captured. What a fabulous idea!! I couldn't wait for their shoot and the day of fun to be made.

The day arrived, and we met up in the tiny parking lot. Everyone greeted me with big smiles, and after a quick outfit change, we headed out for our adventure! We climbed logs, jumped in puddles, watched the water tumble down the waterfall, investigated all the stumps and rocks, ran through a field, skipped many rocks, and balanced on many things. It was a perfect day with the perfect family for a hike at Madison Falls!

My girls' first visit to go see the Fremont Troll in Seattle!

There is nothing sweeter than watching your own loved ones experience something you remember experiencing at their age. This day we were heading to Woodland Park Zoo, and we had to stop and check out the troll! This was my youngest daughter's (Paisley and Charlize) first visit!! They were so excited, yet so confused all morning on why we were going to go visit a troll. Their only image in their mind was the rolling rocks in Frozen that were the trolls. "No, no sweetheart, it will not move." They were looking at it sideways for a bit but didn't take them long to climb all over it! We were so lucky to get there while no one else was there! I LOVE living in Port Angeles, but Seattle will always hold a huge piece of me. Many, many childhood memories all around Seattle and I love sharing all my favorite things with my family.

A senior session at Lake Crescent on a very rainy day! So Perfect!!

Aiden loves everything about the outdoors! He chose his senior shoot to be in the Olympic Mountains in the midst of the trees at Crescent Lake! His family often visits the area to take advantage of all the outdoor activities that surround it...including surfing and snowboarding! One tree specifically always caught Aiden's attention, and it was so huge! We pulled into the parking lot that was located close to his huge tree, and the rain was pouring down so hard. Aiden hopped out of the car with his raincoat on, and a big smile! He was with the trees and the mountains, he wasn't bothered at all! It was almost as if the weather was a gift to him. He was loving it! What a rainy yet wonderful day it was!
Aiden's senior quote for his yearbook..."There’s no such thing as bad weather, only poor clothing choices.".

Lincoln Park is such an amazing place for a senior shoot!

I often glance over as I drive past Lincoln Park looking for dogs playing at the dog park and wondering about the tiny cabins in the shadows of the trees. I never thought, "That would be a great location to shoot sessions!". I am so happy my newest FAB family member thought it was the perfect place, and justifiably! I loved the diversity it offered!! As I did my walk around prior to their arrival, I see a photographer's playground! I see a gorgeous pond, a few fields, the bright back sides of the tiny cabins, a bridge walkway, a dirt road, an old rusted staircase, and even a couple of beautiful rock walls on a couple of different buildings.

Zane arrived at the park and we began shooting immediately! We were walking and shooting everywhere we went. This is where Zane comes to play disk frisbee, and I see why! In town, it's secluded, feels like you are out of town, and it is so spread out! A bonus I usually get with my FAB seniors is chatting it up with parents while we walk around. Zane's mother was the sweetest and we had such a great time chatting it up while capturing Zane. Zane was amazing at doing the poses and actions I was telling him to do! In fact, when I said, "I think we got it, and it's a wrap!", he says, "Already, I was having fun!"!! That was so heartwarming for me to hear! Heart warm, goal achieved!! SFP_9153 SFP_9148

A Christmas Eve shoot on a golf course!

What an outgoing, and loving family! They contacted me for a last minute family shoot on Christmas Eve. They really wanted to capture this day, since everyone was together for the holidays. I said, "Absolutely"! I put together a goody bag for the littles...took goodies from my studio treasure chest, grabbed my gear, and then headed to their home. Their home was on a golf coarse...so many great views and space! Everyone was waiting for me to arrive and eager to start. Thankfully the weather was warm enough to be outside and not freeze!
We immediately headed outside and started the fun! Chasing littles, swinging the baby, jumping for joy, kissing our loved ones, all the while capturing all the fun, laughter, and love. What a fabulous Christmas Eve!

Field trip to Dungeness Valley Creamery!!

Do yourself a favor and take the time to go visit to this quaint, adorable, family owned dairy and creamery in Sequim, WA! You will leave feeling so much better than when you showed up! The cuteness, and fascination was off the chart! I was fortunate to have been the forth grade substitute teacher the day of their field trip to the Dungeness Valley Creamery. The moment we arrived we could see and smell all the goodness. When the bus rolled in, it parked next to the baby cow nursery...we all instantly fell in love with the baby cows! We were greeted by one of the owners, Ryan. Ryan continued by taking us all around their working dairy farm explaining how it all works, all the while answering lots of questions from inquisitive 4th grade minds!! Let me say the poopoo river was definitely not my favorite, and I would be just fine never experiencing that again!! That smell!

Then, the ice cream! Ryan graciously gave everyone a free cone after the tour he led us on. Wow...so good! Not sure if anyone could pick a favorite! The flavors were unexpected, and so incredibly creamy, smooth, and so delicious! Of course, while in the gift shop, I couldn't leave without purchasing one of their super soft, comfy hoodies! We all hung out on the front porch, in this quiet setting and enjoyed every lick and drip of our cones. Ryan left us by saying, "Come back anytime, we are an open farm!" I went home, grabbed my camera, and took my family right back. I am so happy I did!! We were there to see the process of bringing in the momma's, then milking them. Here are a handful of my favorite! What are you wanting everyone to know when they see your image? I want to get to know you! Tell me what your vision and your end result look and feel like to you. Do you want studio shots with lights that are slightly moodier and a bit more dramatic? How about in the studio by the large windows to get natural light for a soft, calm look? Wanting in the studio shots? What to know your style of music? I want you to walk into the studio and instantly feel familiarity! How about outside? Is nature more appealing? My favorite thing about shooting a headshot session is listening to my client as they tell me their story...always a story when there are headshots needed! I know I can look at each of these images and know what their dreams/goals are. It brings a smile to my face! How they became who they are. It is pretty fascinating. I feel privileged that they trust me when they let me in on a small or big piece of their life. Headshots are definitely a top favorite session of mine to shoot!

He's a Husky! University of Washington gained a good one!

Such a great start to my day when my newest FAB family members choose a location that I have never been to! I just love getting to know the peninsula through the eyes of my clients!! I completely understand why they chose this area! It is so serene, so peaceful! His mother knew of this location because it is also her 10-mile running route! Besides being mother and son...these two were best friends. The amount of love and respect that they had for each other was so beautiful and genuine, I had to post my favorites with them both first.

Henry is a very quiet, polite, young man that knows the direction in life he wants to head! He was excited to be accepted into U of W, and already has moving plans in place! I love speaking with my FAB family, but especially my seniors! I love hearing their perspectives on just about everything! After speaking with Henry, I cannot wait to hear updates on where he is in life!!

After shooting on this beautiful trail, we headed to my favorite place to shoot...Port Williams Beach! The view of the mountains, the beach, and water, the flowing field of grass. Gorgeous no matter which way you look! Henry had no problem following me up and down the coastline all the while giving directions and shooting as we walked. He did great...such a natural!

a dream senior session, a winter storm and heireloom furs!

This session started off different than any other senior session. Ocean started it off with wanting images with her parents!! I loved it! The closeness and love that these three share was so incredibly strong...it was beautiful to witness. Just scroll down to see and feel the emotion in these images!!

You would think that being from Cali, Ocean would be extra freezing! Nope, I think she was meant for snow! Her vibrant hair against the white snow, her beautiful torqouise jewelery, the gorgeous furs keeping her nice and toastly while channeling her ancestors!! This shoot matched her personality so well. Ocean is very chill and laid back, yet spunky and adventurous! We had such a great time exploring Madison Falls in the freshly fallen snow!

A downtown photoshoot in Port Angeles with my FAB Senior!

Sarah, one of my FAB Senior Model Team Reps, chose downtown PA for her senior shoot! What a great spot! So many different backdrops! I was pretty excited to go downtown and have some fun!! On the day of the shoot, it was gorgeous out. There were few clouds, so pretty darn bright! The sun was also very deceiving, so cold! Poor Sarah froze from the second she opened her car door until she got back in and shut the door...the wind made it so much colder, and it would not let up! I think the list of "Things that will stop Sarah!" would be a very short list...so adventurous! We may have stood on a dumpster, and a cardboard recycle container to get the shots! Sister and mom came along so of course I threw them in a few photos too! It's a great thing she's up for almost anything and loves comfy shoes because we did a lot of walking all the while stopping to get some shots in!! We headed to the pier at sunset to capture a few images with the pink and blue cotton candy skies. The view from the lookout tower was amazing, but oh man was it freezing and windy....we only lasted a few seconds! We were frozen and ready to leave. Family Fun at Carrie Blake Park!

It all started when a client bought a gift cerificate for a family session package. They are very close to this amazing family that were celebrating an adoption. She purchased this package as a gift to document their new season in life. It was, and is the perfect gift!! I was so excited to meet this loving family! The family contacts me and we continue emailing back and forth for a about a year because life happens, and I get it!!!

The day of the shoot arrives, and its a gorgeous day...almost too nice! I would've appreciated a few clouds! It was so sunny Mom forgot to bring non tinted glasses and didn't quite feel like herself with them. I said "Try on these", and handed her my glasses. They fit perfect and looked great on her!! So I grabbed a pair of perscription sunglasses and headed out on our walk. Carrie Blake Park is very large, and absolutely beautiful! We walked to the areas I had scoped out prior and started all the fun! Little Miss was a bit shy at first, until I was given the okay for a lollipop! Thanks Mom and Dad!! I knew through previous emails that the oldest daughter loves photography. I brought my second camera and let her take a couple shots of whatever she wanted. She started pointing the camera at lil sister and I couldn't resist capturing it! To see the love these 4 shared was so abosolutely endearing.

2023 Graduation Parade from the Spit to the High school!

On the hour, a constant trickle of excited seniors with their vehicles decked out (or about to be) started to flood the spit. Talk about feeling the power of the energy that was in the air from the amount of excitement! Finally an event, for THEM that COVID restrictions didn't shut down!! Relief for the students and the parents. To witness the behind-the-scenes of getting ready, and being a parent, but still trying to capture everything...I just can't help it!!! Seeing so many of my FAB family was so nice...I loved being able to capture this unforgettable moment for them! I think every parent was stalking their weather app days, and then minutes prior! The weather broke nearly the entire time, until the last few moments...then the drizzle started.
Talk about the community and families of the graduates coming together to line the streets, and show their support! The signs were made with love, cheers, honks, and most of all smiles and waves. Such a fabulous event!!

Port Angeles, WA Graduation at Civic Field! Class of 2021!!

In a hectic season of these seniors' lives, today wasn't one of them. They happily grabbed their masks that have become an accessory and headed to Civic Field! All the laughter, the energy felt from excitement, the smiles exchanged, hugs embraced, tears wiped, and then graduates graduated! The weather may have been a bit wet off and on, but then we wouldn't have had the most perfect rainbow over the graduation!!

Talk about the universe giving these guys a sign for new beginnings!!!

My second born is already graduating! What a crazy junior and senior year it was for the class of 2021! They missed out on so much, but so grateful graduation wasn't one of the milestone's that was stripped from them. I shot Spens's senior shoot in California and it was amazing!! We didn't do cap and gown since we were waiting for them to arrive still. I couldn't let her NOT do cap and gown shots!! This was moments prior to leaving for graduation! I said you have to leave, or you'll be late to line up... but not without pictures!! I knew the second she left, that gown, lei, tassel, stole...alll of it was not going to look anything like it did in that moment!! First time I have ever tracked down random people!!

I was heading to a photo shoot here local in Port Angeles, but first I needed to stop and drop off a cooling scarf for my daughter that is a line cook for New Day Eatery. I believe it is the hottest day of the summer and she is over a hot stove!! Worried momma! As I'm parking, this adorable (VERY close-to-delivery pregnant momma) couple walks in front of my Tahoe to cross the road, to go to the same restaurant! I instantly had to take their pictures. I stalked them as they walked into New Day and asked if I could take their pictures, just because...no ties. They awkwardly invited me to sit, and I told them about myself and my business. They then happily agreed!! This was about a 3-minute photo shoot, if that, on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. The next day...a healthy, precious baby girl; Amelia "Lil Millie", was welcomed into this world.

Precious Millie is now 3 months old, and such a delicious ball of squish! We head to Lake Cresnent at sunset, so that I can capture this sweet girl and herfamily. I still can't believe it has already been 3 months since I stalked them at the New Day Eatery, lol! Talk about a GOOD littles, so sweet the entire time! The vibrant hair!! I feel very blessed to have met her...in and out of the tummy! The love these two amazing parents have for lil Millie is extrodianary! Such a sweet family, I am so happy I took the leap to capture a day in their life.

Preschool and Kindergarten Graduates!!

As most of you know this is my second round of kiddos. My first round is now 19 and 24! All girls!! All are beautiful, spunky, corky, and so very smart, yet definitely have their own personalities! It is so beautiful to watch my two youngest girls go through the seasons in life that I have been through with my first two older girls. The two oldest of each "set" of girls are so much alike, and the same with the two youngest. Charlize is 6, and also the youngest. She is my outspoken, independent, cuddle bug! Paisley is 8, and is the complete opposite! She is an internal thinker, codependent, and prefers her own space.

The youngest of the oldest girls and the oldest of the youngest girls both graduated together! One graduated from High School and the other from Kindergarten! I will have kiddos in public school for 40 consecutive years! Whoa! Lol!

So many congrats to my cute and spunky Charlize for graduating from Preschool and my beautiful reserved Paisley for graduating Kindergarten! I am so proud of both of you!!

A perfect outing and backdrop for a senior session, the Spruce Railroad Trail

Why not walk Spruce Railroad Trail, while taking senior photos?!? We had so much fun, put in some steps, had the most gorgeous backdrops and props, and the weather was absolutely perfect...warm and a partially sunny-very cloudy day. He is the oldest sibling of a few...and they all came along to watch big brother capture this highly celebrated milestone! Riley is such a fabulous role model for his younger siblings, such a stellar young man! I am excited for the day I receive the email alert for his scheduling of milestone pics, for graduating from the CIA...The Culinary Institute of America!! If you ever need a taste tester, I'm here for ya!!

A Graduate Tossing her cap up at the top of Hurricane Ridge!

This resilient gal Emma is such a trooper! Today the top of hurricane ridge felt like what I could only imagine what Antarctica feels like! With no wind, it is already so cold up there in the winter, then add in that strong freezing wind...it was absolutely horrible!! Looking through these images, you would have no clue it was freezing as it was! She powered through with many much-needed warm-up breaks, without a single complaint!! Her family showed up to watch these moments happen, so of course I had to get them in a few of the images! To capture the love, the friendship, and the amount of pride that gleamed from her parents...it was so worth all the frozen body parts! Many congrats to you! With your determination...I see you accomplishing whatever you pour your love, energy, and drive into!

Class of 2020 Graduation out at the beautiful Extreme Sports Park!!!

The owner of Extreme Sports Park And Sprint Boat Race here in Port Angeles, WA was so gracious to open his stunning acreage up for the graduating class of 2020. This gave them a place to walk across a stage, and yes SAFELY!! This was huge! The Port Angeles school district canceled graduation and all graduation activities because of Covid-19.

Nikki Brown, her amazing volunteer team, and all who donated time-money-space-food-drinks-gifts-on and on were the reason these Seniors had a graduation and graduation parade! Nikki and all these selfless volunteers gave the students an amazing experience to remember!! Imagine a drive-in movie, for those that remember :) The family members lined their vehicles up facing the enormous big screen that showed the students walking across the stage. Under, yet slightly in front of the huge screen was a stage. They had the senior class student body in place of the district employees, handing out a congratulatory certificate scroll since their diplomas were being sent to their homes and this was not a district event. It was truly amazing and so beautiful to watch all these students coming together, all the parents and community members doing what they could do to make sure it went off without a glitch!! And well, was there one...the rain started and would not let up, and the temp was awfully chilly, especially once we were soaking wet!

Their graduation party was directly proceeding to the graduation, right behind the huge screen. The owner has a huge fire pit right where everything was happening, and he had it roaring to keep us all warm. This event will definitely never be forgotten! This was one of the best graduations I have ever witnessed, and I am so very grateful to have been a small part of the beautiful, selfless team that made it all happen.

Another thank you to the owner for taking me up in his lift so I could capture this unique season in everyone's life, but specifically the one and only graduating class of 2020's once-in-a-lifetime milestone, in its entirety.

Class of 2020-Hopefully a new tradition of celebrating with a parade!

Nikki Brown put in the work! She and her volunteer team made sure this parade happened! What an honor it was to be asked by her to capture as much as I could during the class of 2020's parade and graduation. What a crazy year it has been and these kiddos deserve the most memorable day ever!

This was the first year anyone planned a graduation parade to celebrate our seniors, and what a success! Nikki's son, Logan, is the Class President so that in turn put Nikki in a very important role...to make sure their senior year goes smoothly!

We had a police escort from "The Spit", through town and ended at the high school. The Coast Guard flew a chopper right above all the decorated vehicles lined up for the parade. This was the go sign for the parade to start!! I am beyond disappointed to have missed that shot, as I was in a full sprint with my gear to get to the front of the line where my Tahoe was parked. But it was so VERY breathtaking! The sounds, the vibrations, the strong winds...all it created!! Once I finally reached my vehicle, I booked it to the high school with a few stops along the way capturing the amazing community energy. Once at the school, I found THE spot to capture all these beautiful faces!

A huge kudos to all who made this parade happen!

Sweet Olivia may have a quiet demeanor...it's all because she's planning her college years!!

This senior is sweet as can be, a wee bit shy, a tad quiet, a little out of her comfort zone, but oh my goodness....she did not let it stop her! She does not let things slow her down...powering through is her motto! Olivia wanted an inside and outside senior cap and gown shoot. I love when I get to bring my FAB family's vision to life...even when the wind is NOT on our side! Despite the wind, we had so much fun with so many laughs. One of my favorite shots is in the middle of a road, and it is not always easy when the studio is off a busy street-10th Street in West Port Angeles!! We did much running back and forth to the sidewalk!! This gal can get into the pose in a snap! 50 years down, Forever to Go!

This Bride and Groom of 50 years chose "Wild Birds Unlimited" for their anniversary shoot. It is a quaint, and serene little spot right outside of Sequim, WA. It is a bit tricky pulling in...I may have come in a little hot...the turn sneaks up, it is on a corner! The only time they could book was mid-day, and today was extra sunny with no clouds in site! I get there a tad earlier than normal to make sure I find some amazing shady spots for these love birds.

This location is special to them, and she especially wanted a picture with the fountain in the background...thankfully he created just the perfect shading for his blushing bride! He really liked the tractor....so happy that the tree was there to capture his must have image! These two cracked jokes nearly the entire time making it so much fun. She also dabbles with photography and when they came to pick up their flash drive, she gifted me 10 blank greeting cards with her beautiful nature photography...so special!

Not only does everyone who interacts with these two, have relationship goal envy, but they leave happier!

This guy has always been quiet, empathetic, loving, and such a great little helper....Nothing has changed! He works so hard while going to school, treats his girlfriend with much love and gentleness, and sometimes you just might forget he's there...so quiet! He drove up from Puyallup with his girlfriend just for me to capture his senior pictures! Ummm YES to having a full day of fun, doing what I love to do all the while getting some nephew time in! The same little boy that use to hold my hand downtown Seattle at Pike's Place. Now a senior, a man! I am so proud! "She said she could so she did"...Yes, yes you did!! What is sweeter than your lil boy asking to be part of your cap and gown session? He was the best little on-the-spot smiler! Look at his love for his momma...ADORABLE! Not only did Michelle graduate from COLLEGE, but she did it while developing, and running her own successful baking business, "Crumley's Confections"! A gal that does it all! A Senior, Cheerleader, JROTC, A Job...

All about BETTY! Betty is an all-around fabulous young human! She has a couple of different titles already! In cheer-Captain Betty, JROTC-Commanding Officer Cameron, and a nickname I will let her keep private from her momma. Look at these accomplishments that go with those titles, ALREADY!! One of the most loving daughter/mom relationships, and sisters I have ever known! I got to know Betty, and the other two Cameron girls pretty well as we traveled around Port Angeles. From a tiny bench, park-a closed down restaurant-sidewalks-climbing on sis's shoulders, climbing on rocks at the spit, blowing glitter on a bridge as passers mosey on by, posing in at the theatre in a field of gorgeous daisies, and my studio!! So much work, BUT so fun!!! Betty is up for anything, so down to earth, quirky, spontaneous, goofy in the best way, and beauty that is just as beautiful inside as it is outside. We had a blast! I was also lucky enough to capture her at the parade, and graduation since my daughter is in the same class. Enjoy the three-session compilation of "All About Betty"!

Fabulous Captain Stout and her Hot Air Balloon "Dream Catcher"

Captain Crystal Stout and her team along with all the other volunteers really worked hard to put on events! Here is a snipped-off from the start of blowing the hot air balloon up to packing it away. Look at how many members it takes! Thank you, Captain Crystal, for letting me tag along! Her pup was 100% in! If her pup wasn't beside or on top of her...her eyes were watching momma! This was also my Charli girl and I's first ride on a hot air balloon! I absolutely love that it is built with a wheelchair/handicap in mind....such a fabulous cause! I had so much fun, and learned a bit also! Such a fabulous cause, run by the sweetest lady, pup, and crew!

Caitlin and I laughed so hard...talk about having fun at work! This gorgeous cowgirl wanted a fun, silly, yet intimate boudoir session as a gift to her hubby. What a fabulous gift!! I believe we definitely succeeded at bringing her vision alive!! She tipped a bottle up, (pretend) smoked a lil, wore the hat, and cheeky long underwear, played dress-up, and hopped on a saddle! I cannot wait to meet the rest of her crew, including the 4 legged ones!!

I flew to California to shoot this young man's senior photos. I know I am hugely biased since this is one of my true soul sisters...BUT look at these two!! My favorite photoshoots are the ones that just happen, the littles forget or don't care that I'm there with my camera clicking away...around my house, it is rare! I claim all my children have what I like to call "Photographer's Kid Syndrome"...they see the camera and run!! Lol!

Today I wanted to test a new lens so I took a chance, I grabbed my camera, and started clicking away!! My littles played along a bit, but look at my husband doing his thing!! Grateful and Blessed :)

A Gorgeous day that didn't go any way it was meant to go, yet was perfect

My day started calmly...knowing I'm catching a ferry and driving to my destination off the peninsula in Seattle. Well, the ferry was down by one ferry, and so very backed up PLUS the bridge was up for a boat to travel through! Crazy panic...I had to drive around the peninsula to get to Seattle from Port Angeles. I always put extra time into my drive just for this...just not both! Never a SUPER late ferry and the bridge up. PANIC set in. I am calling frantically, with constant updates, but still, feel like I swallowed my heart! I get to the church, and it has to be the HOTTEST day in Seattle! I start shooting immediately. The bride and groom were gorgeous and calm, the day was scorching, yet beautiful, and all around the ceremony was perfectly imperfect...

A private and STUNNING venue for a senior session!

I was given an address, and I waited alongside the road to be led down to the session location. After a bit, Beau shows up and guides me down...HOLY SMOKES! Gorgeous! A private little retreat on a river, with a huge outside eating area, overnight spots, a bridge that was waiting to be installed...and on and on! Also, he handled the wicked wind and rain like any true PNWer! I wanted way more than an hour at that spot to capture calm, quiet Beau! Beau loves to weld, and his truck...that he has spent many hours making it perfect for him. He is a man of few words or expressions, but he did such a great job when giving him instructions. He is such an outdoors guy, he really is in his element being outside by the fire pit, in the drizzling rain!

What a great location that Adrian chose! What a great time we all had walking around the old school house chatting and taking pics! I love when my FAB family introduces me to new shooting spots, and then in return, they trust me when I say "follow me"! I know where Adrian gets his happy go lucky, bubbly, energetic personality...his parents!! Adrian loves all sports, particularly...basketball! He is a fabulous athlete but also has a quiet and calm side. He did great at all the poses I was throwing his way!

Can a shoot be completed without the parents and furbaby?!? Nope, the answer is no way!
