I have had the privilege of knowing this young man, Ben since he was 7ish...he and his younger sister were a couple of kids in the neighborhood that came over to play with my Spenser May when we moved to Kent, WA. He was so good at protecting his younger sister and Spenser May as they walked between houses. Really all our children, and the mom and I instantly connected. Her oldest daughter was 14-15ish and in the same grade as my oldest daughter, and both were on the swim team. Us mother's met because I insisted on meeting the mother of the one who wanted my daughter to go on an out-of-town outing. The two oldest girls met on the swim team and that's how everyone's lifelong relationships began! Her momma showed up at my home to meet me so my oldest girl could go out of town with her oldest daughter, and instantly we clicked! Ever since then, we have spent, and still, spend a lot of time at each other's homes!
Even after they moved to California!!
Flash forward, and now Ben and Spenser May are SENIORS!!! Spenser May and I flew to California to visit my soul sister, and to shoot her son, Ben, and my Spenser May's senior pics! Besides the shoot I did with both of them together, I did them both separately at the estate. Ben and I also spent a day doing basketball jump pics in a suit, and car pics...day and night!
We did one session at a dead-end street in one of the many neighborhood developments that were going up around his neighborhood. Then we waited for night and we took off to some nearby storage units for some cool night shots. I tell you what, this young man earned this car on his own, and constantly put in the elbow grease to make it his in every way. He has done such a great job on it!! This car is definitely part of him.
For the other session, we headed to a family member's private, stunning estate. This gorgeous home sits on some wooded acreage resting on the mountainside overlooking a breathtaking ravine! As we pulled up, there was a 4-point buck walking through their driveway! It was one of the most gorgeous settings to capture Ben for his senior portraits. This handsome young man has a smooth, and quiet demeanor with a dash of spunk. It was a fun, easy, and memorable afternoon capturing Ben and his essence. I said it, he posed it...I said to take another jump shot, and he ran another shot without hesitation...with a suit on and it was SO hot! He's an amazing young man that knows where he will be in 10 years! I know without a doubt, he will surpass his goals!
So many CONGRATS to Ben...A SENIOR, Class of 21'!
